Sheridan Parkside Community Church and Life Center serves an area 5 minutes north of Buffalo and 15 minutes outside of Niagara Falls. Our neighborhood is one of the lowest resourced areas in all of NY, impacted by drug addiction, homelessness, mental health issues, and poverty. We have many children and youth who are untended by parental oversight. They need friends and mentors to show them the ways of Jesus. As Children’s & Youth Ministry Coordinators, you will be responsible for the creation of gospel-centered activities involving children and young people. The first part of your summer will be given to relationship-building and preparation with weekend parties, Bible studies, and recruitment for summer programs. You will survey the neighborhood and get out the word about activities and services offered by the Life Center. You will work alongside teams that come to assist us with Backyard Bible Clubs and other children’s & youth activities. Once the teams have departed, you will be responsible for following up on any decisions made as a result of their work. Summer missionaries must be up for a challenge and willing to work hard to engage a wide range of cultures. If you have a compassionate heart but are not thin-skinned and are up for a challenge, we need you to serve alongside us as we seek to unify our neighborhood through activities that engage folks with the gospel of Jesus.
